James’s new play Einstein and Me had its first outing at the Playground Theatre in West London in June 2021.

The staged reading of the five-hander was held over two nights at the small theatre and was very well received by a combined audience of 90 people. The well-known journalist editor and columnist Anne McElviy wrote a warm appreciation of the work in the Critic magazine.

She said:” This is a neat five-hander exploring the compromises and evasions of the two outstanding minds of the 20th century, Albert Einstein and Kurt Godel…The result is a fast bubbling stew of big ideas and personal animus.. a poignant reminder that the fringe, as well as the grand stage, keeps the wheels of the mind turning over.”
